Music and the Mind; an Integrated Approach examines scientific evidence pertaining to the short-term benefits of listening to music as well as the long-term benefits of active participation in music. In particular, we will focus on how musical training impacts auditory perception, language perception and literacy, spatial and mathematical performance, and self-regulation. We will also examine some of the ways in which music is being used to benefit emotional and social outcomes, and through that, health and wellbeing
